A peek into the world of hotels and hospitality – exclusive video interviews with hoteliers
Patrons of the Hotel & Hospitality industry (and certainly those that run it) are no stranger to the glitz and glamour associated with it. A world different than most, comprised of the most beautiful places, experiences, designs and gastronomic delights…all driven by the dynamic and hardy people who define the industry. But while we hear so much about the tangible elements of hospitality, it is rare to find a soulful look at the people who engineer the experiences that keep you coming back for more.
A trio of Young Hoteliers plans to change all that! A new platform and approach dubbed YoungHotelier.com aims to steal a little limelight from the industry and focus it on the people that actually define it. The concept utilizes video interviews with hoteliers and those associated with the industry who can be defined as being truly “young at heart” and making these insights available on the Internet, on the www.YoungHotelier.com website, a dedicated YouTube channel and even a fast-growing Facebook Group! The site already features a concept video, footage from the Hotelier Middle East Awards and various behind-the-scenes interviews.
The creative team behind this initiative comprises of three energetic hospitality professionals in Dubai and Abu Dhabi, Joynal Abedin (Training Manager with InterContinental Hotels), Erin O’Neill (Corporate Sales Manager with Starwood) and Jitendra Jain (E-Commerce Manager with Starwood) who spend every free moment reaching out to colleagues in the industry to join in on the excitement. The vision of the site is ‘to be a home to hoteliers everywhere’ and is fuelled by a passion for people as well as a need to reach out to those looking to make a career in hospitality. The concept also draws its mission from 5 core values, namely “Connect”, “Learn & Grow”, “Belong”, “Be Different” and “Have Fun & Keep it Real”…the video introduction on the site explains all this quite aptly, with a blooper reel of the video shoot included for added fun.
